About Us

American Safety Products was founded in 1985 in the dining room of Warren H. Arrington, Jr, its founder. The company grew rapidly in the 1990’s as a primary distributor of safety supplies. Due to client demand, the company added sanitary and maintenance supplies to its product offering.

In 1996, Carolina Power and Light, asked American Safety Products to produce a product for the efficient collection of transformers needing repair that would reduce labor and protect the environment. American Safety Products invented the Environmental Kit and we introduced it to other utility clients. Carolina Power and Light became Duke Energy and remains a client.

In 2004, American Safety Products added construction services. The first major project was the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC). For almost ten years, American Safety Products completed projects with General Trades and Specialties. In 2013, the company transitioned from General Trades and concentrated on Division 10 subcontracting in the public sector.
